Description

Game Name?

A Shadow's Tale / Lost in Shadows

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

SDWP18

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

c340fa12576245cdec87a6094b039609

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Even with EFB2RAM, the shadows are not rendered correctly. Boy's shadow is not visible at all, and the shadow platforms are rendered as chunks.

RealXFB seems to have no effect on actual display. EFB2RAM removes a shadow on top of the screen, but doesn't make the game playable.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Start first level of the game.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

4.0-7888

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Mac OS X 10.11.0, 3GHz Xeon E5v2, AMD Firepro D700

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Sounds interesting, but we need at least a 3 frame fifolog to put it on fifoci and expect semi-accurate results. If you'd do that, I will put it on the automated testing suite so you can follow that and know when it's fixed.

The fifolog looks really strange, the shadows are constantly flickering around and such; I can't do much with it, unfortunately.

Unless that's the bug, that the shadows are flickering around like that. If that's the bug, then it's perfect.

On my Mac I wasn't seeing the flickering, I was seeing the total absence of shadows, as shown on my screenshot.

I found the game. If EFB Copies are broken on a Mac, then, maybe I can just blame Apple's drivers :D.

Anyway, I'mma dump it when I get home from work and see if I can reproduce your issues. Thank you.

  • Status changed from New to Questionable

Shadows are working fine for me, 4.0-8122. Can even run at high res with EFB Copies to Texture.

This could be another example of the OSX drivers messing up our EFB Copies.

  • Status changed from Questionable to Duplicate

This is probably the OSX EFB Copy bug. We already have an issue for that.

Hmm, my video card is not Intel, it's AMD Firepro D700, so if it's indeed the same issue as the #8613, its summary is not accurate.

I just changed the title of that one to reflect this.
