What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

My friend and I are trying to play Phantasy Star Online together over the internet via the broadband adapter. I hosted a server and can connect to it without issue and can see when my friend connects to it as well through the server's GUI. My friend reports that when it actually connects to the server, he gets a "Dolphin has stopped responding" message and the emulator crashes. He's also tried to connecting to a public PSO server which I am able to connect to without issue. He crashes connecting to that as well. It does NOT crash if he is unable to successfully connect to a server.

In summary, the emulator crashes when it successfully connects to a server.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Boot PSO Episode 1 and 2 (Ver. 1.0)
Select online game
Successfully connect to a server

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

Tested on versions:
master-4.0-7840 x64
master-4.0-5064 x64 stable-5.0-rc-34-x64

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
He is asleep, I'll ask him when he gets up; His computer is able to run most gamecube/Wii games without issue.

He is running Windows 8 x64, however.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

He has tried changing BBA_MAC in Dolphin.ini and this has not resolved the issue.
