  • Subject changed from Narrowed issue: Dolphin appears to be slow to Dolphin UI becomes unresponsive while game remains responsive
  • Status changed from New to Accepted

I've had something like this happen a few times. I don't remember under what circumstances, though, so more investigation is needed here.

Ideas?

Usually this is caused by the GPU lagging for me. I think "Computer is running at max, so the UI is lagging" kind of makes sense? I think this is working as intended, honestly.

Apparently that's slightly unacceptable.

If you set IR to 8x, is that the same effect you see?

What do you mean by "set IR to 8x" ?

Updated by Juesto about 9 years ago

Actually in-game input does work properly and i've experienced it with both gc and wii games

It means set the internal resolution in the graphics settings to 8x native.

Regardless of IR the emulation stays the same.
Could be an effect from "Ignore any changes to the EFB format"?

with 8x the the gpu is almost fully able to handle it: 94% at first.

I haven't had this happen since switching to Qt. A bug I will not miss.
