What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
When I try to record a tas, dolphin does not load save data for that game. The game provides prompts to create save data, or simply does not display it, despite it appearing when playing without recording input.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Have a Wii game with save data.
- Start recording input for that game.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?
I used 4.0-8291. The issue seems to have started at 6512 as it occurs on this one, but not 6502.
What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
CPU - Intel i7-4700MQ
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GT 740M
OS - Windows 7
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
I've tested on other games and the issue appears, so it doesn't seem local to brawl.

This is an intended behavior because if it did read the save file, it would probably instantly desync.

Uh, what if you're starting a TAS from a preexisting savefile? This is a fairly common use case, and is accepted at tasvideos.org as long as a verification movie to generate that savefile is provided.
comex's project-moration changes caused a lot of known issues that wouldn't be nearly as problematic if there were a handful of on/off switches for them...
