Description

Game Name?

Observed on all games, but most testing done with Kirby's Return to Dreamland

Game ID?

[SUKE01]

MD5 Hash?

112f2942c7bea2bbb4384c16e58ceae9

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When attaching Wiimotes either via the built in bluetooth stack or using the Mayflash Dolphin bar I notice that CPU usage increases significantly. For example, if I leave the game running (Kirby character just bobbing up and down on a mostly static screen) with an Emulated Wiimote using keyboard only, CPU usage resides at around 80%. As soon as I start using one Wiimote, CPU usage increases to around 170%.

Other interesting things to note:

  1. Pausing the game using the Wiimote home button does not reduce CPU usage.
  2. Pausing the game using the Dolphin "pause" toolbar button reduces CPU usage to 80% (switching back to Emulated Wiimote drops the CPU usage to 10%!)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start the game using an Emulated Wiimote (keyboard input)
  2. Press the "Controllers" button
  3. Change the Wiimote 1 entry to Real Wiimote
  4. Press "Refresh" (continuous scanning disabled)
  5. Wait for Wiimote to buzz indicating connectivity
  6. Note increase in CPU usage

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

Verified on most recent build 4.0-8666 but also reproduced on 4.0-8437 (the first version of Dolphin I ever used)

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

MacBook Pro (15 inch late 2011)
2.5GHz i7
8GB 1333MHz RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1GB

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

I can provide extra detail if required.

I think this got fixed not too long ago... Or am I imagining things?

If anyone could test this on the most recent development version (or if someone can point to a merged PR that fixed this), I would appreciate it.
