Text in buttons/tabs cuts off because the tab is too small.
This appears to be an OSX specific problem, If I had to guess I'd say it's El Capitan related. Adjusting monitor resolution does not change the way menu buttons are displayed.

The tabs cutting off text seems to be only an issue with the size of the window. If you resize the window, it resizes the tabs.

This UI reported issue was before the move to QT so probably resolved.
