Description

Game Name?

Super Smash Bros: Melee

Game ID?

GALE01

MD5 Hash?

67136bd167b471e0ad72e98d10cf4356

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

If an empty port of the Wii-U adapter is mapped to a controller port, Melee hangs before showing absolutely anything on the screen (not even black) until a controller is plugged in.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Plug Wii U adapter in
  2. Configure dolphin to use the adapter for one or more ports.
  3. At least one of those ports must not have a controller plugged into the adapter.
  4. Start Melee
  5. Nothingness

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

4.0-9238 - Broken
4.0-9237 - Works

This is a regression from Fix netplay desync when using wii-u adapter. #3797

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Figures. Glad you found it before 5.0. I guess that code /was/ there for a reason.

Kind of a shitty reason. The Wii-U adapter SI device is of unique, in that it can be both configured (according to dolphin) yet presented to the game as unplugged.

I'm actually unable to reproduce this one. Maybe my adapter is magic but I can't seem to reproduce any of the Wii U adapter related issues. It's the regular kind from Nintendo. Am I doing something wrong? I attached the setup pictures.
