What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When using Dolphin's Auto Aspect Ratio a screen in F-Zero GX will mistakenly render in 4:3 even when the game is set to be in widescreen.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Start Chapter 1 in Story Mode. The screen before right before the Machine Settings screen will be in 4:3 when the game is set to widescreen and Dolphin's Auto Aspect Ratio is being used.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

5.0, 5.0-103

It's because these screens don't actually render in 16:9. I don't think there's anything to do about this. Sorry :(

Yeah I wasn't sure it it was an issue with Dolphin or the game itself. Every other menu screen other than that one seems to work fine though.

Yeah, the 3D it renders there is at 4:3, triggering Dolphin to go back to 4:3.

Sadly, nothing we can do about this, the game goes back to rendering in 4:3.

It was common in games of that era to cheat and not actually do everything in 16:9, especially mostly 2d screens.

But you can force the dolphin to 16:9 widescreen to prevent any automated switching of aspect ratios if that annoys you.
