Description

Game Name?

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

GZ2E01

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

41deff9b1fd2831f48fbfa2dd1054e4d

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Since it's the Dolphin Wiki, where people looking for better ways to emulate their games go (like me XD), I thought this was worthy of an issue post. That widescreen code is very useful, since it doesn't stretch most UI elements, unlike the simple AR code. Problem is, the Gecko code prevents interaction with NPCs during the Twilight sections. When transformed into a Wolf, Link can use his senses to see the form of NPCs and talk to them, but the code will keep them into a blue flame form, even with the senses "on".

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Create and enable 16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix "Gecko" codes
  2. Enter Twilight areas
  3. Try to talk to NPCs

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

I don't think this would be version specific, but I've been testing this on the latest (5.0-1064, as of time of writing).

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
AMD Athlon II x2 240 2.8Ghz
5GB RAM
GeForce 9600GT 1GB

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

The Gecko and AR codes are obviously on the Wiki page of the game, but here they are anyway XD:

https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess_(GC)#16:9_Aspect_Ratio_Fix_.5BGecko.5D

Also some screencaps with the Gecko code and the AR code.

Two save states, one with Gecko and another with AR, and a Memory card save file, if anyone wanna test directly.

Gecko save state:

AR save state:

So, uhm, I guess the codes would either need to be removed, or fixed (hope for the latter XD).

Your only recourse is to note the issue on the wiki by saying the codes are broken in this case, or to remove the codes from the wiki because they make the game unplayable.

I'll ping MaJoR for what to do.

I don't think we should be using this issue tracker for wiki issues.

Either way, the code has now been replaced with a code that apparently doesn't have that problem.

Sorry about that, I realized just now that there's a "discussion" section on the game's wiki page. Thank you for the fix, there's no problem now.
