Description

If i play a while (10-20 min) the audio begins to stutter, and will get worse if i play longer. When i look into the running processes i see that an "Interrupts" process (Windows 7) stresses one of my four cpu cores to 100%, this is why the audio lags. if i play music with a music player while dolphin is running, the audio stutters too here. If i close the running emulation and let the dolphin main window open, the 100% Interrupts process is still present. Only if i close dolphin complete, the Interrupts process is normalizing to ~1% processor load.

The probelm does occure with every game. (tested mario party 7, mario double dash)

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
I'm using 5.0-1103. In the past, the problem did never occure. I have the problem since two weeks.

When i for example using an Playstation 2 emulator, the problem does not occure with the 100% Interrupts process.

What are your PC specifications?
Winwows 7 64-Bit, AMD Radeon HD 5870, intel i7-3770K

Don't know if it is really a Dolphin error, but here i have some news:
I have a USB 2.0 HUB where 4 Gamecube controllers are connected. If the interrupt process is up to 100% and i disconnect the usb hub, the interrupt process is normalizing to 0.5%. After connecting the hub again i can play 10 mins until the process has 100% again. If i reconnect the hub the story start from scratch.

If i play wii games without using the gamecube controllers the problem occures too. After 10 mins the audio starts to stutter. If i disconnect the hub, the stuttering is gone and the interrupt process turns to normal. If i let the usb hub disconnected during playing wii games no audio stuttering does occure.

Some updates again:
I don't need to start an emulation. I must just open dolphin and let it open in the background while doing other things. After 10-15 min the interrupt process is up to 100%. If i hear music by the way, the music begins to stutter. After closing dolphin, all is normal again.

  • Status changed from New to Won't fix

This is an issue outside of Dolphin regarding LibUSB usage. You should find the buggy driver (likely soundcard/headphone) and complain to the manufacturer.
