Known issue with nvidia. I've spent a little time debugging it, it seems that the depth values it writes across the primitive are inconsistent for some reason. Not sure what we can do about it. (note, interestingly reducing the depth buffer bits to 24 "fixes" the problem, so we're probably off-by-one in the floating point buffer).

@Stenzek

I don't know if it will help, but here is a link describing usage of Vulkan depth buffering.

Also, if only nvidia is affected, has an issue been submitted to their driver development team to see if they're aware of the issue or are working on a fix?

I can't reproduce this in 5.0-1473 or 5.0-9618 anymore. I suspect this was a driver bug but I can't speak for the other issues linked to this one. Problem doesn't exist with:
Win 10 Pro x64
Intel Core i7-4702MQ CPU @2.20GHz
GeForce GT 750M
2x 8GB Hynix 1600MHz
GeForce Game Ready Driver 418.91

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

This was a driver bug, so I'm closing this as invalid. If any of the duplicate issues remain, comment and they'll be reopened.
