Emulator Issues #11879
closedGeckoOS does not load (produces black screen full of hex dumps) beginning with version 5.0-6568

Description
Game Name?
GeckoOS 1.9.3.1 (latest)
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
I’ve been using GeckoOS to launch Project M in the stipulated manner for years now. In fact I had a separate portable Dolphin installation specifically for doing so.
Today I thought why not update the Dolphin version used for that installation, so I did (I was previously using version 5.0-6414 for my Project M installation).
However, launching produced a black screen (inside Dolphin, not on my computer) displaying various hex dumps. So I worked my way back through old versions until it worked again, with version 5.0-6566.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I have Dolphin correctly set up as required for Project M: Smash Bros. ISO set as default, Project M SD card path set, etc.
Up through version 5.0-6566, Project M has worked fine when launched with the following command line:
"G:\applications\Dolphin [Project P]\Dolphin.exe" "--exec=E:\Wii\[custom]\GeckoOS [1.9.3.1].elf"
Using that same command line for Dolphin 5.0-6568 produces a black screen (still showing the Dolphin OSD) containing hex dumps. Dolphin’s screenshot hotkey doesn’t work on this screen, so I had to take a photograph of it, sorry.
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
Works up through 5.0-6566, broken beginning with 5.0-6568.

Argh, that’s my fault. When searching for prior similar issues, I searched for “GeckoOS” (not also “Gecko OS”), which didn’t return that issue.
Sorry about that . . .

Although thanks for pointing me to the original issue—since I have a separate installation devoted to Project M (and don’t play Smash Bros. using Wiimotes), disabling Wiimotes in that installation allows me to use the most recent version of Dolphin for Project M.
