When using a Pro Controller (and maybe Joy Cons) Dolphin crashes at random times

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Connect a Switch Pro Controller (or Joy Cons) and interact with Dolphins SDL2. Sadly the crash can be inconsistent so it might take a while to trigger it
