Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play a game like Super Paper Mario on any build
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to hear sound effects (jumps, etc), you can effectively hear them
for a small amount of time (when the level starts, or when there's a
cutscene), but they suddenly disappears after 10 to 15 seconds after.
The BGM anyway remains untouched, only the sound effects are involved in
this bad behaviour.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Tried a lot of builds, Officials and Unofficials. The last build I'm using
is the Orleans 4599 on Windows 7 x64 with an integrated soundcard
(Microsoft default drivers, but it also happened on a Windows Vista 32
machine with a Creative soundcard, so I think it isn't a soundcard related
problem).
Please provide any additional information below.
Always used the HLE Audio Plugin.
zomg, wrote two times "after", nevermind
It also happens with Super Smash Bros Brawl.
I can confirm it happens with Super Paper Mario wii. You can hear all the fx sounds
like jumps or getting coins for the first 30 seconds and then silence, only music
remains playing...
The same here, tried Super Paper Mario and Smash Bros Brawl for Wii, in Super Paper
Mario the sound effects disappears after 30 seconds when a cutscene ends, in Smash
Bros Brawl it happens randomly. I experienced this with a lot of builds, even with
the last 4658 compiled today.
This was fixed (at least for Super Paper Mario) at around r4630 or so. I play x64
r4641 Super Paper Mario and sound never cuts out. The same revision that fixed this,
however, completely killed sound in Mario Galaxy, so YMMV.
True, I'm currently using the 4682 (x64) and this issue, in Super Paper Mario, seems
gone. Very well :)
About the problem with Mario Galaxy, have you tried 4682 and above? I've just had a
issue with 4699 (severe framedrop in Super Paper Mario, opened the 1808 about it).
How about latest revsion?
Paper Mario, for me sound wise, is playing almost perfectly. The SFX play great, but
sometimes sounds fail to start. The ones that do are playing all the way through.
Although the HLE is still under pretty heavy work as Dolphin team struggles to
understand just what the ucode for games is doing (on a processor running that ucode
with little to no documentation, the very opcodes for which they're guessing at by
skilled trial and error) I'd say the issue mentioned here is fixed. It seems to run
perfectly in the LLE.
