I discovered that this only occurs when the dual core option is turned off. It is
off by default, and I have had it turned off because it has been running slower with
it enabled. By the way, it is still running slower with the dual core option turned
on than it did before with the dual core option turned off.

I just discovered that this is not a linux specific issue. This also affects windows
(and most likely macs). Any time you try to load a game with the dual core option
unchecked, the program segfaults.

Its not Segfaulting here......
Soi say its your setup... plz do a memory check (memtest86)

I don't think it is my settings at still works fine with revisions 4853 and before in
both windows and linux. With any revision after 4853 it crashes if the dual core
option is turned off. Are you sure you tested it with the dual core option turned off?

I ran a full memory check with zero errors. I don't think that is the problem. A
backtrace of the segmentation fault obtained from gdb is attached.

yeah i tested it with both dual core on and off, both are running fine

Hmm, maybe it is something that is particular to the games that I am trying to load.
I get a segmentation fault on all of them that I have tried. Those are "Big Brain
Academy: Wii Degree", "Mario Party 8", and the wii menu 4.2u (dumped from my wii).
Although I noticed in all cases the segfault occurs in a call to cgCreateProgram. At
least that is the case in linux. I don't have more detailed information in windows.

Someone else in the forums said they are having this issue to. So it is not just my
computer.

This has been reported in a more direct manner as issue 2053. So someone who has the
permissions to do so should mark this as a duplicate or something.
