Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Disable Dual core mode
  2. play a game, stop it
  3. Enable Dual core mode (on a Dual Core CPU)
  4. experience a major slowdown

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Dual core mode should increase the performance on Dual Core CPUs, not
decrease it. This issue has been around for quite a while, there have been
several threads in the forum, but so far I could not find a ticked filed.
What I could observe:
Dual Core enabled: 6 Threads (two causing most CPU usage, another one to
get ~15%) - ~23% performance
Dual Core disabled: 5 Threads (two causing all load, about 98% each) - 40%
perfomance

Seems like there is some thread running wild?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64, r5300, can not recall a version where this worked properly

Please provide any additional information below.
