[GC] Tales of Symphonia: Crash before Iselia Human Ranch

Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play the game normally and defeat Luna and Aska
- Watch the video, read the next cutscene until Kratos rejoins and gains
the Traitor title. - Program stops responding.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The game should take the party to the Iselia Human Ranch. Instead, the game
freezes.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Dolphin v2.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Please provide any additional information below.
I've defeated the boss 5 times already to make sure it wasn't a bug that
freezes the game after some hours of gameplay.

for me TOS hangs in the opening cutscene while lloyd is in class. At certain points
in the video it will freeze and not continue.

update - now runs perfectly as of windows r5624. make sure to have EFB copy to
texture ON as well as safe texture cache ON(normal).

(sorry if this gets emailed twice, i deleted the first one :( )
i have efb copy to texture on and safe texture cache on, but it still does not work... the game/emulator actually makes a sound that sounds like a cd skipping..(!?)
i'm using 32bit win vista with dolphin v2.0 (would it run better on win7? i keep putting off the upgrade)..

no. use a newer commit. it won't work on 2.0. win 7 won't change performance unless you use 64 bit, but that will only give small speed ups, won't change any problems that are dependent on the version of dolphin you're running. DX11 does have some advantages if you use that on win7, but only if your videocard supports it.

okay, i tried it again on r5875... everything is faster and looks a little better, but it still crashes at the same point (earlier it crashed right after the anime cutscene)... i'm really tired of fighting luna and aska a million times :(.

that's upsetting to hear, I don't know about the luna and aska fight, I haven't even gotten there yet. It's possible that it's still a bug, the part that I knew was corrected was the opening and very beginning of the game where it crashed for me initially. I hope there's a fix for you soon, I haven't been able to test for a while because of a very inhibiting crash bug in recent revisions >_<

it is indeed very upsetting! i have no clue what to do now, short of posting my save file on the interwebz and asking someone to do it for me. sigh...

update!
on a whim i tried it on my 2.0 again and it worked!! i have no idea how or why..
then i just copied my memory card to the r5624 and continued playing.. no problems so far except the intermittent crashing... just make sure you save your game often! :)
i think there was another issue for someone in this forum about change disc; that was not an issue for me.
the only thing is that flanoir, with its snow, makes the game lag so much as to be barely tolerable.. just be patient as it'll get through it eventually, haha.

Hum, excuse me to bring this again after 3 years, but your solution doesn't work for me :/ When I fight Luna and Aska, after Yuan and Kratos arrive to say "You did it !" "No !", there's the earthquake, then, it's blackscreen, fps down to 0 forever... This happens with the Dolphin 3.5, on the 2.0 one, there's a window that says there is an error at the same point :(
