Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start Dolphin, choosing any graphics plugin
  2. Start Super Mario Sunshine

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Enemies, at least "bosses" like the first goo plant for example should flash red when hit by water, and they actually did to a certain rev (mid 4000!? i guess) but dont do so anymore. Then i would like to refresh the devs minds on the "already reported" bubble issue. They are still not displayed correctly - some people here speculated, that it might have to do with a blur function in EFB, which isnt implemented yet - if i got it right. Maybe some demigod like rodolfo or another dev with gfx knowledge can have a look at this at some time. SMS is almost perfect, and fixing these issues would make it even more perfect...

Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?

Played with the latest build (6314), red flahing bug didnt appear on nosound97's SMS youtube video. He used rev 4006.

32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
I only use the 64-bit version of Dolphin

OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
I run Windows 7 64-bit

Please provide any additional information below.
PC specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4 Ghz
ATI Radeon HD5770, 1GB
4 GB RAM @ 800 Mhz
Win 7 64-bit

I forgot to mention, that it doesnt matter what EFB Copy setting you choose in the gfx plugins to experience the issues stated above, but having EFB scaled copy enabled in the DX9 plugin makes the goo look edged...

Hi.
Any chance you could try to narrow down the revision which broke stuff?

Hi Neo!

  • Well, after having tested a couple of old revs, i found out that 4696 was the last one, which the red flashing worked in. The very next one in mamarios archive is 4714 -> red flahsing broken...

  • Im not sure about that EFB scaled copy glitch, ill attach some screens!

  • The bubble issue does, as far as i know, exist since the beginning... (see screens for that as well)

I confirm that the (lack of) red flashing was caused by r4714.

I can confirm (here r6314) that exists an issue in SMS when "EFB scaled copy" setting is turned on.
Now... besides the edges...
... this option constrains to set "Internal Resolution" (from user action) to Auto-integral, fractional nope... otherwise paints go away :D LoL.
When "EFB scaled copy" is on, again SSAA x9 can corrupt paints... even if internal resolution is set to integral.

  • Status changed from New to Fixed

r6319 should have fixed that one.
