Description

What's the problem?
Loading many games in cISO format results in a black screen. Converting these cISO images to regular 4.3gb ISO files results in successful loading and emulation.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"):
7344

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem:
None, went back to when cISO was first committed R6685 and the problem is present.

Operating system and version: Windows 7 Professional
32-bit or 64-bit: 64bit

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):
RMGE01

Build command-line (not on Windows):

Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?
It is an ISO I dumped myself and converted to cISO for storage. Converting back to ISO works fine, so there is no loss or "damage" to the file from the ISO->cISO->ISO conversion.

Please provide any additional information below.
Twilight Princess is the only game I own that works from cISO. Super Mario Galaxy and it's sequel both fail, as does Smash Bros. Brawl.

crap should just be removed IMO....

In the forum thread, users suggested either scrubbed ISO or GCZ. Scrubbed ISO is not a viable solution IMO as it requires compression for any reduction in size and decompression for use with Dolphin. cISO and GCZ files are both "ready to play" and offer good reduction in size. However, cISO almost always provides smaller filesizes than GCZ. In many cases, the reduction can be dramatic:

New Super mario Bros. Wii gcz - 571 502 KB
New Super mario Bros. Wii ciso - 366 624 KB

If the existing code can be easily fixed (and I'm not saying it can be), it would be extremely welcomed by those of us wanting our games to use the least HDD space possible.

how are you converting to ciso?

A command line utility, isotociso.exe, by Hermes. There are many frontends for this util, but I use a simple batch script I wrote to convert several dumps at a time. I have attached the util and my script.

I used this tool on both Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Brothers, and their ciso files both played fine in dolphin x64 r7607 (on win7).
