Emulator Issues #4327
closedHLE Problem - IPL Ear Killing Buzz
0%
Description
What's the problem?
The use of the HLE Recompiler Plugin for DLE produces an EAR BLEEDING BUZZ on booting the IPL before the game.
Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"):
This bug has been occuring since at least r7264-r7413.
(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem:
[Have not found a build that does not fix the problem, but an update somewhere in the mix made LLE work instead of producing no sound at all]
Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):
None, because IPL loads before the game.
Build command-line (not on Windows):
Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?
Probably completely irrelevant, because IPL loads before the game.
Please provide any additional information below.
Only HLE has this problem, both LLE Recompiler and Interpreter produce the correct Gamecube Xylophone sounds, with the plushy duck too if you hold Z. (It just means that LLE works 100% (with the dsprom files), HLE very painfully hurts)

Further information is that after getting 'used' to the buzz.. if you go to the Gamecube Menu, the buzz goes up and down on what appears to be the correct notes, but it's like the instruments are missing or something. As a result, I get a painful noise.

This is old news and I'd swear there's an issue for it already. But I can't find it.

There's already been buzz issues with HLE like one issue reported for Brawl, but this time it's for the IPL(Bios) itself. Oddly, LLE correctly emulates it.

Question is... If there is a DSPHLE bug, that doesnt exist in DSPLLE, is that
even a bug? :)
