1) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Continuation of the cutscene. Instead, the game freezes.
2) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin?
Not that I know of.
3) What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Proceed with the cutscenes at Sylvarant Base.
- Just before the Botta Battle, the game freezes.

It's the undub version, if that is important.

unckeck dual core + frame skipping and retry. You can also try the JIT experimental recompilateur too

Funny... I got through this area no problem with OGL settings a month ago with Dolphin 3.0.

@mickamartel Thank you, it's working now although hopelessly slow without making use of the dual cores.. Guess I'll just switch it back when I get to a save point...
