Description

Game Name?
Rayman Origins PAL

Game ID?
SOJP41

What went wrong?
When 2 real Wiimotes are connected, controls from both Wiimotes do not respond in Rayman Origins. 1 real Wiimote works, as well as 2 emulated ones, and also 1 real one combined with 2 emulated ones.

What did you expect to happen?
That both Wiimotes are usable together with the game.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Connect 2 real Wiimotes, start Rayman Origins in Dolphin.

What version of Dolphin were you using?
The most recent one (3.5-1062)

64 or 32 bit Dolphin?
x64

What version of Dolphin used to work?
3.5-471 definitely works.

What Operating System were you using and what are your hardware
specifications?

  • Windows 7 x64
  • Original Nintendo Motion Plus Inside Wiimotes (non-TR)
  • Asus bt211 Bluetooth Adapter with Microsoft Stack

additional note:

the described behaviour only happens, when wiimote speakers are disabled in the wiimote settings AND 2 real wiimotes are connected. if speakers are enabled, constant disconnects happen (see bug 6058).

here again an overview of my test-results:

  • 1 real wiimote + Speaker disabled = working fine
  • 1 real wiimote + Speaker enabled = working fine
  • 2 real wiimotes + Speaker disabled = controls not working or responding with extreme delay
  • 2 real wiimotes + Speaker enabled = constant disconnects

What version of Dolphin used to work?
sorry, i meant: 3.5-432 definitely works (the one before the 'real-wiimote-scanning'-branch merging).

It sounds to me like your bluetooth adapter just sucks.
Will someone confirm?

hi billiard!

at least 1 user is having the same problem (see user juanramo's comments at the bottom of bug 6058).

which bluetooth stack did you use trying to reproduce the problem?

i've now tested this behaviour using 3.5-1085 with toshiba stack, and i couldn't reproduce the problem there. i then switched back to mirosoft stack, and the problem was there again.

so it seems to be another microsoft-stack exclusive bug - or it's really depending on the hardware (i'm using Original Nintendo Motion Plus Inside Wiimotes (non-TR)
with Asus bt211 Bluetooth Adapter).

@billiard

rayman origins is the only game i encountered this behaviour. games that are working with 2 wiimotes are e.g.: Bomberman Blast, Bomberman Land, Donkey Konk Country Returns, Kirby's Adventure Wii, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros Wii

Is the issue resolved in r018282c2b9f2c0f128b0ae6ce9157ae01de5c4d5 (3.5-1204) when Disabling speaker data?

With 3.5-1204 I'm not having disconnections in rayman origins with 4 real wiimotes, (2 nintendo and 2 3rd party).
