Description

Hello,

Dolphin don't work en ubuntu 14.04, problem with libavcodec53 and libavcodec-extra-53

My problem is with libglew1.8 by both, trying to run dolphin-emu (installed before the update from 13.10)

"dolphin-emu: error while loading shared libraries: libGLEW.so.1.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

and trying to install the .deb file in 14.04

"Dependency is not satisfiable libglew1.8 (>=1.8.0)" even tho I have installed libglew 1.10.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

We do not provide .deb files for Ubuntu 14.04.

Precisely, Ubuntu 14.04 is maintained until 2019 when Ubuntu 13.04 is not maintained, it should update the .deb.

Maybe setting it to enhancement/new instead of Invalid would be nice.
I am sure many people appreciate Ubuntu 14.04 deb's.

OP raises a good point, though perhaps not elegantly stated.

I'm curious as to the rationale for "not providing deb files for 14.04"; 13.04 was not a major version, and in fact as of this January is not even officially supported.

14.04 is the current LTS version of Ubuntu, which will be supported until 2019. I could totally see the rationale if you guys were sticking to 12.04 support or 14.04, but 13.04 seems odd to me.
