Game Name?
Mega Man X Collection

Game ID?
GXGE08

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
In the Sigma stage the game just stops right before the first boss, when the boss health meter fills. Music plays on and the player can pause and change weapon but not move (neither can the boss).

What did you expect to happen instead?
A boss fight where the player and the boss CAN move, what else?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Enter Sigma Stage (unlocked after all other stages are beaten).
  2. Head right until first cutscene and scripted fight occur.
  3. Shortly After scripted fight (player is rigged to lose). The hang up occurs after the following message appears:
"Vile: What the...!? did that energy come from??
It really doesn't matter how much energy you
absorb X, you are still far too weak! Prepare to be
terminated!" The boss health gauge is filled then... it stalls.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
no.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Operating System: Windows 8.1 x64
CPU: Intel Pentium CPU 2127U @ 1.90GHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphics Family (1GB)
Ram: 4GB

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?
x64

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

You didn't mention what version of Dolphin you used. Could you post that please? And try to find a permament spot to upload the memory card, such as mediafire with an account, or mega, etc. Sometimes developers don't get to an issue for months!

Also try it with the latest version of Dolphin, try using a savestate during the cutscene before the hang and loading the savestate with interpreter and JITIL CPU cores set to see if it changes behavior. Interpreter will be very slow, so unless you want to wait a long time, make sure the savestate is close to the hang, but NOT hanged yet.

Dolphin 4.0-1957

I'll upload the mem card some where more permament soon.
And the other thing may take a while to do... will post results of the test after I perform it.

  • Status changed from New to Questionable

unable to reproduce on 4.0-2012. I'm guessing it's a problem with yours. I didn't need a memory card; I ended up just using a password (derp.)

That's correct... sort of.
I forgot to update this, it appears it was some kind of anti-cheat measure because I had to Action Replay Cheats active during the incident. Super Jump and Infinite Lives from CodeJunkie's site. I disabled those two and proceeded to play the stage. Now it doesn't exhibit the odd behavior. I did a save state during the fight and reset with the codes loaded then loaded the save and the game continued normally. I think a check is made for something one of the two codes effects and that was what caused it.

As for the music cut off I think if one uses the save states too much it causes that glitch.

Personal Note: I only needed the two cheats because I have a hard time jumping and I die a lot on that game.

That's fine. Thanks for taking the time to make an issue report. It got me to get the game and try it, and we found other issues in the game.
