Description

Game Name?
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2

Game ID?
RMGE01
SB4E01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
After the warning screen about space and using the security band, right before the Title screen is shown, I get some warning pop-ups.
While in t game, the main character and most NPCs are messed up with some polygons being stretched to the center of the map (Screenshots below).
For some reason Toads, robots , penguins and some other NPCs still look great, as can be seen on the screenshots. Also, Lumas only get messed up when the main character gets close to them.
I also tried to enter a galaxy in SMG1 and it only showed me a black screen, but if i hit the Home button (it won't show me the Home menu, but a black screen), and hit it again to go back to the game I can see a single frame where the image is rendered, and black screen again.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The emulator not to show me any warnings, the characters to be ok, and the galaxies not to render a black screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Set the emulator to JITIL
  2. Start any of those games
  3. Dismiss the warnings
  4. Start a game

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Most versions through 4.0-5742 to latest (4.0-6006)

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Yes. It started on 4.0-5807: "Add various loads and stores to JitIL"
Any version before it works great

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 7
Intel Core i5 @2.5GHz Dual-core
Intel HD Graphics 4000
2x2GB DDR3 RAM

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
It will only happen in JitIL

Also, I forgot to mention. It shows me the first warning on the screenshots, then the second, then it whows me the same as the first, and then the third shown in the screenshots

I did some more tests and that black screen seems to be a different issue. It happens even on JIT, but only under OpenGL. Also, I tested it on three galaxies of Super Mario Galaxy (1). The galaxy of the haunted mansion worked great (in which you rescue Luigi), but the other two are the first Manta Surfing galaxy and a beach themed galaxy, which use full screen effects for water distortion, leading to a black screen. I'll try to bisect the version where it started to happen (in a few days) and post a new issue about it. I didn't try SMG2, so I want to have enough info when I post the issue

Intel HD + OpenGL = those issues, I wouldn't bother looking into them.

  • Status changed from Accepted to Won't fix

JITIL is dead, making this issue now outdated.
