Emulator Issues #9508
closedTAS Movies Recorded from Save State Fail to Play
0%
Description
Affects all games I've tested.
- Pause
- Make a save state.
- Start recording input.
- Do stuff.
- Stop emulation.
- Export recording.
- Attempt to play the recording by loading the associated save state. The game should immediately hang with that awful buzzing noise. Manually loading the .DTM itself does nothing at all.
Not sure when this issue cropped up, but I've tested to around 4.0-8216 and I've still not gotten it to work.

This is actually a different bug. Loading savestates too early into a game loading causes crashes on a lot of Wii games.

Actually, I observed this glitch with all my GameCube games, too.

I tried this in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and had no issues. Went to MKWii and saw the crash. Can you confirm it happens in all games then?

Tested some more games and apparently this only happens with most of the games I have, not all. Ones that don't work are:
- Burnout
- Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
- Lego Star Wars II
- The Simpsons: Hit and Run
- Sonic Heroes
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman
Ones that do work are:
- Super Mario 64
- Animal Crossing

I got mixed up. I forgot you actually have to load the DTM itself to play the movie, not the save state. And it's actually loading the DTM that causes the buzzing noise. This probably has nothing to do with #9513, then.

*the buzzing noise and the crash. I really need to proofread the stuff I type.

The buzzing noise and the crash. I don't think my brain is working. Wish I could edit a post without having to make an entirely new one.

I'll resubmit this issue with a corrected description. The way I described the issue here was way off.

I don't think you need to; I think the other issue being fixed will fix it.
