Description

Videos as .Bik content in some games like transformers 2 are not read
correctly.

We would say that the lines are switched on one another.

tested on dolphin no-IL x32 R3622 on windows seven x64

I don't understand...you mean the interlacing is done wrong? Could you post a picture?

I only have one game using .bik videos (ghostbusters) and i can say the glitch is
either random or likely timing related, switching between the PAL60 mode and 50Hz
mode seems to fix it, i don't remember which one...

Basically, it looks like the video decoding is done wrong, and you can see the pixels
blocks messed up looking like an highly compressed video, while it's actually a high
quality bink file :P

weird. We have to identify the issue as the decoding is done in the game and not in
dolphin

Hmm, I just found out what was causing the glitch, my comment about the 50/60 Hz was
misleading, i was probably changing all the settings and thought it was this one but
it wasn't;

The issue due to the way Bink rendering is done on the wii, they're using the EFB to
store the encoded image, and the "force filtering" option of dolphin was yet again
messing it up (just like the goo going away in Mario Sunshine) so the final image was
broken...

Maybe we should just disable filtering on the EFB or... make it another option ? as
it can really improve the visuals sometimes (ZTP's bloom, SMS ooze, ...)
another possibility, (but as a GL noob, i don't know if it's even possible :P) would
be to make a copy of the EFB before rendering it, and only do the filtering on that
final copy.

Any clue ? in any way, disabling force filtering fixes this issue :)

problem still existent. @ghostbusters/videos

Can we reopen this (or do we need a new issue)? Ghostbusters as of r7580 still exhibits this behavior in the boot videos and even some pre-rendered cinematics during the game.

This is with bilinear filtering off - with it on, they are much, much worse.

Looks like it just DX9. DX11 and OpenGL don't have this corruption.

So far, I get these corrupted screens/videos during boot on Ghostbusters, Thor and TMNT. And again, looks perfect on all plugins except DX9. Probably want to adjust the bug title here.

Is this fixed?

No change as of 3.0-371.

Using r701 Ghostbusters looks perfect!

But the videos in TMNT still have lines all over (bilinear filtering off).

Same issues with Crash of the Titans intro videos.

Please don't generalize and try to combine different issues. And state exactly what games you've tested.

On DX9, TMNT and Crash are not affected by changes to the internal res. or 'scaled copy' options.

@17: BIK and VP6 videos aren't the same, and the bug is completely different too. I don't see why these two issues should be merged.

wespipes, is this issue still a problem in the latest master (Dolphin 3.5-597)?

As of 3.5 1102, the issues with TMNT and Crash are still present. All videos have still have these lines regardless of filtering, internal resolution, fullscreen/window. Screenshots above match current behavior.
