Description

Game Name?

The Urbz: Sims in the City

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

GUBE69

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Whenever my sim's portrait is supposed to appear, such as in the sim selection screen or in the task queue when leveling up, there is only a black square. I haven't yet seen a poster or kiosk that's supposed to have her on it, but I doubt it'll be much different.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Make a sim and either level up reputation or exit back to the sim selection screen.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Have not checked.

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Yes, 5.0

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
GPU Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Operating System Windows 8.1 64 bit

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

[Anything else here]

Does it still occur with "Send EFB Copies to Texture Only" unchecked?

That makes the portraits work when I make new sims, but now the screen flickers...

Have you tried all video backends?

OpenGL and Direct3D both flicker now that I've turned off "Send EFB Copies to Texture Only". Software renderer keeps playing the Maxis logo over and over.

Have you tried disabling dual core?

Per chance do you have "Enable Progressive Scan" ticked in the advanced graphics settings? That's known to cause flickering in certain circumstances ever since Hybrid XFB was implemented.

Enable Progressive Scan was never checked and disabling Dual Core did stop the flickering, but also made everything in gameplay run super slow. I say in gameplay because the menu and intro video are perfectly fine.

If disabling dual core fixes it, I don't think there's much we can do about it.

Nothing to fix the slowdown?

Nothing besides upgrading your hardware. Single core + EFB to RAM is a huge performance drain.

Okay, the game still slows down to hell when running in single core with EFB to RAM even on a 6700k, so there's nothing that can be done about that. However, the portraits are saved when you make the urb, so you can just make your urb with the setting on, then save and turn it off.
