Description

moving mouse causes sound skips and framedrops

I suppose this happens with any game, but I only have tested it with Xenoblade Chronicles SX4P01

  • dolphin-emu 1:5.0.r12443.b5241d1c2c-1 Archlinux
  • dophin from git (Sun Aug 30 04:16:38 2020)

Core i5-2500k, GTX660 (high-end 2012 PC)

I can ramp up the resolution and use all the slow stuff, it changes absolutely nothing. I can even run GTA4 on my third monitor and mine Bitcoin in the background, the behavior remains totally unchanged.

Also its entirely unrelated to the sound driver. I can give it 200ms latency, for ALSA through dmix filter (no Pulseaudio), or latency through Pulseaudio, its all the same.

The FPS always go around 24.88-25 FPS (I guess its capped) but when I wiggle the mouse and hear the skips sometimes it shows like 12 or 18.

It doesn't matter if the window is focused or not. The annoying thing is when I play, I move the mouse around a lot to browse the internet or use other programs like IRC or filebrowser.

When I don't move the mouse (not even the tiniest bit) or I disable the emulated Wii Remote, the issue 100% disappears. Xenoblades doesn't work with Gamecube controller, so I need to enable Wii Remote with Wii Classic Controller extension. I tried unchecking and removing every "mouse" but it doesn't change the bug.
