Added by omegadox over 16 years ago.
Relates to performance:
No
Relates to maintainability:
No
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- load Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart:DD,
- run game
- some textures like a gate, or HUD gfx have black backgrounds on them
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the texture should have not black surrounding it and it is partially
transparent
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DolphinWx R192 x64, OpenGL 0.1, DSP_HLE, KB/XBOX360pad, Windows Vista Ultimate
x64, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS 256MB, Intel Core 2 Dou (SSE2, SSE3,
SSE3 supported))
Please provide any additional information below.
In some other games, alpha-blending works.
I can confirm this as well. Using SVN Rev 242 x64, will use a later rev soon. :P
I can also confirm that the black backrounds to some of the textures doesn't exist
when using the DirectX plugin. However, they do exist when using OpenGL - which is
the only video plugin so far that can take Luigi's Mansion's graphical beating.
Sorry, last comment, but DirectX also makes the light of Luigi's flashlight display
properly. OpenGL causes the light comming from the flashlight appear solid.
lol, wow, knuckles, well I gotta try Luigi's Mansion with Direct3D 9 again.
Confirmed. With both the OpenGL and DirectX plugins, there is a black outline around
the plants on Outset Island in Wind Waker. See attached images. In the OpenGL shot,
a very obvious black 'point' can be seen on the tips of the plants. It is less
obvious in the DirectX plugin, but there is still a thin, black outline along the
tips and sides of the plants that is not supposed to be there.
This can also be seen at the title screen of Super Monkey Ball 2 (the text looks
chopped up in the OpenGL plugin).
The alpha blending in Luigi's Mansion was fixed for OpenGL, and I think for Mario
Kart this is really a problem with the glAlphaTest not Blend.
- Status changed from New to Fixed
