The game have Runtime error on DolphinWX.exe . If you change the sound

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I use Rev 233 for the test , windows vista 32bits.

Make sure you are using the new HLE plugin, not the LLE plugin (that one is extremely
experimental and doesn't really work)
Updated by inseparables42 over 16 years ago
I already use the HLE plugin . and the error is on hle plugin .
Mario sunshine have movie sound , Zelda four sword has Movie sounds , But Tales of
Symphonia has Crash after checking memory card , Resident evil rebirth too , paper
mario too .
The error is a Runtime error on DolphinWx.exe .
If i change sound plugin to the old 223 rev plug , every thing work.

make sure OptimizeQuantizers = False and report back if it still happens
Updated by inseparables42 over 16 years ago
I have try to turn to False and the problem is always here , even the rev 341 have
this problem. When i change the sound plug to the older one , the emu work , but if
i try to use the new sound plug (who play movie sound ) , i have a crash.
Updated by inseparables42 over 16 years ago
The problem is very important , I have test Rev 241 and there is a BIG problem .
Wario World (US) , Tales of Symphonia (Fr) , Starfox Adventure (PAL) , Sphinx (PAL)
Super smash bros (PAL) , Resident Evil Rebirth (PAL) , Paper Mario (PAL) , Final
Fantasy Cristal Chronicles (PAL) , Beyond Good and Evil (PAL) and Bust a Move (US)
Have this strange crash .
Before the sound plugin change , only Wario and Starfox doesn't work , all other
worked well . What's happened ?
I must use the old plug for not having this bug.
I join the error message . It's the same for all Game .

really? FFCC worked?
Hm, that looks like an STL error ... very strange.
Updated by inseparables42 over 16 years ago
I use Windows Vista 32 Bit Home edition , Intel Pentium Quad Core Q6600 with 3 Go
Ram , Geforce 8800 GTS (with the latest drivers Nvidia) , The June Direct X version
redistrib , and i use Rev 242 Dolphin Emulator.
I think i have a good specs to play Dolphin , but i don't know why it's not working.

When I debug in VS2008, this is what I have: Unhandled exception at 0x77d306d5 in
DolphinWx.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.
Here is a portion of the code thats its pointing:
void __cdecl _unlock (
int locknum
)
{
/*
* leave the critical section.
*/
LeaveCriticalSection( _locktable[locknum].lock );
}
#ifdef _M_IX86
#pragma optimize("y",on)
#endif /* _M_IX86 */

- Status changed from New to Accepted
Thanks, I don't have an explanation though :/
Smells like you somehow get the debug version of STL, and that it detects a problem.
I should probably compile with that.
Was your Dolphin exe built with VS2008?

"Wow I found a work around that may further help you.
If a create the file DSP.ini in the dolphin directory, the problem does not occur
anymore."
Yeah you deleted that comment, but I can see it :D
Is that true? If so, I'm sure i can find and fix the bug.
Updated by Wagnard28 about 16 years ago
Well not really. The problem seems random. I was too happy And reported too fast. SO
when I tried it again, it didnt work :/
I didnt wanted to spam the comment here so I removed it :)

Runtime error is only visible fo rme because VS2008 is installed. If I run the
compile version on a machine that does not have VS2008 I get the standard
Dolphinwx.exe as stopped working.
Here is what windows repport if it may help:

Just adding again :P
If I load a game that does not produce any sound ( Zelda WW) there wont be a problem.
Updated by Wagnard28 about 16 years ago
Ive compiles the debug version and this one work. (well for now..) :P
Updated by inseparables42 about 16 years ago
The problem can be solved ? Because i never can use the new sound plug because there
is this problem.I must change to the older plugin sound , but no improved sound . . .
Updated by Wagnard28 about 16 years ago
not really solved. I use the compiled debug version of it and it work. But its
slower because its debug version. Ill upload it to my skydrive for those who need it
until a official fix is made. In Wagnard28 on Ngemu forum btw.
Updated by inseparables42 about 16 years ago
Now the problem with Rev 392 and 398 , the older sound plugin doesn't work at all ,
like the debug plugin .
What's going on with this problem? How to solved that ? I just can play Zelda game
only and some nintendo game (luigi's mansion) , all other , like final fantasy ,
super smash , tales of symphonia , and many others have this problem now.
Updated by Wagnard28 about 16 years ago
My compiled rev 408x86 Wagnard28 on ngemu forum have the normal Hle and the debug
one. try the debug it should work.
well it work for me...
if it crash the first time with the debug, retest it one more time. just in case.
Updated by Wagnard28 about 16 years ago
On my side its fixed now.
Thanks for great work.
