0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Choose OpenGL plugin
- Run Wii game "A boy and his blob"
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
At the bottom of the screen about 20+ pixels are cropped incorrectly.
Besides, play with OpenGL plugin will crash dolphin at a certain spot.
If you choose DirectX plugin, the display has no crop problems.
At that certain spot, it passes with DirectX plugin in Dolphin-r4292.
But it crashes with DirectX plugin in Dolphin-r4470.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Dolphin-r4470 32bits

Now with r4646, both DirectX and OpenGL have got this bottom crop problem.

does it look proper if you use XFB (opengl plugin), instead of using the "auto-
stretch"?
Updated by knowitall599 over 14 years ago
There is a black screen when XFB (opengl plugin).

No news about this issue? Kinda sad that it's in both plugins...especially because
the game seems to be perfect otherwise...
Updated by marcel.werner3 about 14 years ago
hm, strange that it's "demi-fixed"...so I guess the place where to look for it to get
fied wholly would be the place that underwent changes in 5000, right?

Good news: NeoBrain's new DX11-plugin seems to emulate A Boy And His Blob PERFECTLY! At least there's no black bar at the bottom...maybe a dev could now find out what's the difference and port it to DX9 plugin, too.

Meanwhile my plugin supposedly suffers from the same bug, but a fix (not from me though) is going to be committed soon and will cover DX9 and OGL as well ;)

- Category set to gfx
- Issue type set to Other
not sure. rodolfo once told me that he'd commit it "soon", but that was quite some time ago already... CC'ing him.

still no fix to this? I don't think it'll be too hard because you could take one of the first builds with DX11 plugin - there it was working right. Some changes then broke it :-/
Updated by NeoBrainX over 13 years ago
Uh, if it was working right once and doesn't meanwhile, figure out which revision broke it, please.
I neither have the game nor the time to find that out by myself...
Anyway I hope it was one of my commits (would be easier to fix), rodolfo's commits kind of confuse me every now and then ;P

neo: one of my commits broke that game. the problem is fixing that game broke kario kart wii and smg, still not figured out why.
Updated by marcel.werner3 over 13 years ago
Aye, when I find the time, I'll try to figure out which commit exactly it was :)
Updated by NeoBrainX over 13 years ago
Uh well I guess Tino knows what to look for already, nevermind ;)
Updated by rodolfoosvaldobogado over 13 years ago
neo: if you want to look at he error is in render.cpp in the code that clears the screen after an efb copy.

if you take a look at it and find something, I could test it with my game anytime; though I'd need a build -_-
Updated by marcel.werner3 over 13 years ago
oha, well, kind of...now one of the first screens (the first one to normally have the black bar) looks pretty messed up. And ingame, almost everything is black, one some items stick out.
Good news is, the black bar seems to be gone ;p

Alright, this supposedly is fixed in DX9/DX11 since r6327. Can anyone confirm this?
Updated by marcel.werner3 over 13 years ago
interesting! :) I'll test it as soon as I find the build compiled...unfortunately, mamario's script seems to be sleeping right now :-/
Updated by marcel.werner3 over 13 years ago
nope, sorry, issue is still the same.

What about r6669 with DX9? Still an issue?
