Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Get two (or more) pads from the same brand/model. I'm using a couple of
el-cheapo Genius G-08XU for this experiment (PC detects both of them as
"2-Axis,8-Button " - spaces are part of the device name)
  2. Enter nJoy settings and check "Save by ID"
  3. Take pad #1, and set the keys that you want to use with it.
  4. Select pad #2 from the list, and repeat the procedure.
  5. Rinse and repeat for each additional pad.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to have separate settions for each pad. Unfortunately, since
all pads in this case share the name, only ONE section is saved, with the
mappings of the FIRST pad. As a side effect, you can only use the first pad
of the bunch. This negates the "Save by ID" feature... and pretty much
breaks the multiple pad support if you get all your pads from the same source.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r4593 on Fedora Core 6 x86_64

Please provide any additional information below.
I suggest to save the settings including BOTH the pad name AND the pad ID,
as a solution for this scenario. Some other emulators allow this.
