Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Go into DSP settings. Uncheck first box 'Enable HLE Audio'. Check DTK
Music and Audio Throttle, with DSound.
  2. Load New Super Mario Bros Wii (PAL).
  3. Attempt to load a save game.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

After selecting the # of players, the menu goes away, and the background
continues scrolling without loading fully.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Windows 7 x64
r4789 x64 dolphinIL.exe

Insignificant issue, but figured I'd report anyway. Spent a bit of time
trying to figure that out.

Thanks Dolphin team!

Hmm, yeah I didn't see that one. Probably the same root cause.

  • Status changed from New to Won't fix

IMHO this is not even an issue, emulating the sound I/O is normal and necessary for
some games, as they check for data to be played/copied etc. disabling it is a hack
and will cause issues, you know it's a bit like saying "I disabled copy EFB and the
bloom in ZTP doesn't work anymore !"

Okiedokie, no big deal just thought I'd report anyway. Thanks for looking at it.

  • Status changed from Won't fix to Fixed

NSMBWii does load with no audio back-end selected in modern builds. The rest of the options are no longer valid. Since this issue this was linked to was closed, I think this can be safely marked as fixed as well.
