since r4910 i'm not having any of the issues you describe. what revision you using?.

I used r4896 so yes, if the black bars are gone it should work now (can't test right now)

But the issue itself, is that the black bars are rendered over the FPS display, so
even though it will be correct for most resolutions because there's no black bars,
the error could still appear I guess

this is true. the text overlay is not on top of any black. if you play a 16:9 game on
a 16:10 monitor theres black bars on the top and bottom and any text thats displayed
will be in that black portion, not visible. the same thing if you play 4:3 on a
widescreen, the text overlay is in the side black bars.

the text needs to be changed to be drawn over top of the black bars, or the top-left
origin for text overlay needs to change from the entire render window to the game
render window (4:3, 16:9 original without black bars)

Definitely not questionable. Verified and hopefully it'll be fixed.

no its not questionable. that fix people are talking about is for window size. how is
that going to help if you play full screen? if the game and monitor are differing
ratios you are going to have black bars in full screen, and any overlay text will not
display in these areas. please change the status.
