xpad360 does not work with Linux

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the config window of the xpad360 plugin
  2. press a button to change it's mapping -> "Press Key/Button"
  3. pressing a button or trigger on the gamepad has no effect, xpad360 does
    not get the event (and can thus not be configured)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The plugin recognizing the button pressed on the gamepad. (Works fine with
nJoy)
Instead, nothing happens, as if there would have been no event from the
gamepad.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Dolphin r4929, Ubuntu 9.10 x64, xbox controller
