0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Launch Mario Kart Wii
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see a blue square in few tracks of Mario Kart Wii
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I use Dolphin x64 r5045 on Windows 7 64bits Home Premium
Please provide any additional information below.
- My graphical card is an ATI Radeon HD5850 1024mb, and the graphicals
drivers are the Catalyst 10.1 hotfix - Changes in the default Dolphin configuration : lock thread to cores and
DirectX9 plugin with EFB copy to texture enable (I need this for a good speed). - For a picture of my problem, see here :

improving the emulator. ;-)

- Category set to gfx
this is a problem that could not be solved because is not posible to emulate exactly
logical opertions in d3d

I still get this problem on latest versions of the OpenGL plugin. I opened an issue
about it a few weeks ago. So for me both plugins suffer from this. Is there a
special setting to make the box disappear or was this broken recently?

Thank you for your responses.
"Labels: Component-GFX" > it's a problem with the ATI graphicals cards ? I think the
emulator works better with nvidia because I can't use the OpenGL plugin (too slow). :-(

fbr@live.fr no offense but what you just said does not make sense.
Updated by fbr over 14 years ago
@ death2droid : Why what I say does not make sense ? Dolphin is too slow with my
recent ATI Radeon, and it seem to work better with a Nvidia (or an old ATI). Also I
remember bad OpenGL implantation with the ATI graphicals cards. So I didn't
understand why Dolphin is unplayable with the OpenGL plugin.

Component GFX simply means that it affects the GFX part of the emulator (meaning
Video Plugins).
I dont have Mario Kart Wii, but my Radeon HD5770 is fine with OpenGL.

this is a known problem. i forget the details but this is the best it can be
emulated, but theres a possibility of adding a hack to blend the color away better in
the future.

@j4ck.fr0st : Ok. Have you already tested Dolphin with
Super Mario Sunshine ? I've got 13fps. :-/
@ebirnie : Don't worry, they are bigger problems than that. ;-)

I also get 13 FPS on OGL and about 20 FPS on DX9 in SMS, but the speed is about right
if you play a bit. Setting Frameskip to 1 makes it a bit too fast. Thats with
Framelimit Auto.
Disabling Framelimit does not stop me at 60% VPS, leaving me with >100% speed, but
thats probably also what you feel as "not slow".
I suggest you try out disabling Framelimit (on the General Config screen), and see if
it plays fine then.

the blue square dissapears when I check the "Disable Fog" box :D

Fog again!!?? My nightmare!!! :°D
chioplus360 have you checked for latest dolphin's revision?
If yes, post a related screenshot at least, otherwise maybe is fixed already.

Issue 3602 has been merged into this issue.

Thus, it's "disable fog" really a workaround or not?
This happens even with EFB To RAM, EFB Scaled Copy unchecked and Safe Texture Cache activated?

Please respond if this issue is still valid, or it will be closed.

This issue could've been closed after rodolfo's comment already...
"this is a problem that could not be solved because is not posible to emulate exactly

IIRC disabling fog doesn't fix this but just makes the square less noticable.
