closedVirtual N64 Console does not detect/initiate gamecube controller in slot 1
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play any virtual console n64 game without an emulated classic
controller attached - Emulated or real wiimote attached
- Have a gamecube controller set up on slot 1
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should be able to play, instead the game asks for you to attach a classic
controller and press a.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
5138 on win 7 64 bit
Please provide any additional information below.
Not sure why the gamecube controller isn't being detected or initiated.
Gamecube controllers work on brawl with the same config so I don't think
its an error in the settings.

the virtual N64 games specifically require the classic controller. Are you sure that
a real Wii can run VC N64 games with a regular GC controller in slot 1?

Yeah, the message only talked about classic controller but its supposed to work with
a gamecube controller too. Thats just a typo, its like that for all the vc titles I
think.
I found out that on the real wii it can sometimes have an issue if you have a
numchunk connected, but my config didn't have that. It's strange, I havn't tested
more yet. I'll try having a classic controller emulated soon and see if the second
player can be a gamecube controller, that should also work in theory. I'll have to
wait after this week, lots of work to do.
Also, its probably not very important since most people probably don't want to
emulate in an emulator but there are lots of small issues, like no sound. This is a
lower priority right now isn't it?

Make sure to not press the A-button on the wiimote to pass the health & safety
screen. Confirm if you are certain you are only giving input for the GC-pad to pass
the screen. If you arent sure, wait for the screen to pass before pressing anything
(I don't have a N64 game wad to try)

- Status changed from New to Invalid
you can even remove all wiimotes, if you want. But basically you just need to use it as it was designed: seemingly
all you have to do is let the game know that you want to use the GC pad :p
