Description

It would be great if the emulator could detect calls to play audio files
and HLE them. Then music would work even in non-AX games such as the zelda
series (with their .afc format)

JPeterson has already begun work on a dolphin music streamer. SFX is just
another step forward.

JIT DSP anyone? :D

I hope they make dolphin .afc Files compatible !
I wait for this since the first Dolphin !
Because Zelda WW,Zelda TP(both versions Wii and GC), Super Mario galaxy,Mario Kart
Double Dash,Mario Kart Wii,and many others use this files !!

Sure, I wouldn't mind putting it in the SVN. I could also make an updated patch
files that works with the latest revision. The biggest benefits are in Mario Kart
where it plays the track music, other than that it plays some music in Zelda WW. The
biggest disappointment was Zelda TP, it has lots of ast files on the disc but I have
not come across a single occasion where they are played, except the title music
(title_back.ast). It seems like some of the ast files are newer used, they seem to
have gone over to using sequenced music halfway into the production and still left a
lot of ast files there even as they are unused. For example menu_select.ast is not
used to play the menu select music, it has been sequenced instead. Beside these
games it may also add some music to Luigi's Mansion, but the Pikmin 1 and 2 music
can not be played by vgmstream. So all in all it's not very helpful. But I could
update it to work with with a new revision, even if it's basically only useful in
Mario Kart.

  • Status changed from New to Accepted

It's a great addition that could help who-knows-how-much games. It is true HLE audio,
as I said.

Add it as optional in the HLE DSP preferences config.

Off-by-default + cleanly separated code = i'll accept it. but i still don't like it
much :)

Yes, open trunk\Source\Core\Common\Src\Setup.h and change "//#define MUSICMOD" (it's
near the bottom of the file) to "#define MUSICMOD", then rebuild dolphin.

You should also open MusicMod.sln instead of Dolphin.sln

Since we made huge progress in LLE sound, and JP wasn't around to really maintain
MusicMod, Can we close this bug/get rid of it?

Actions #12

Updated by marcus over 15 years ago

Yeah, if it works :)

Actions #13

Updated by XTra.KrazzY over 15 years ago

Sure, once LLE fully works and we figure out HLE, this True HLE is actually useless.

Since we removed MusicMod I think it's time to close this issue :-)
