Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Load any game, the menu etc
- Press home on the wiimote
- Bring up the wiimote
- Click Connection Reconnect
- Wiimote shows press 1 and 2 to reconnect and the Wiimote turns off and is now unusable until dolphin is reloaded and a error pops up HCI_CMD_INQUIRY is called, please report!
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to be able to press 1 and 2 to reconnect each wiimote in order of the player numbers.
Instead I get this error HCI_CMD_INQUIRY is called, please report! and wiimote cannot be turned on again until dolphin restarts.
Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
r6216
32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
64bit
Please provide any additional information below.
Using the Wiimote new plugin
Same problem here, are you using emulated devices (like keyboard, gamepads etc...)?
Merge the issue 3299 with this one.
I suggest to create a sort of "AUTOMATIC PAIR UP" for emulated devices.
Issue 3265 has been merged into this issue.
I see 3265 was merged... Just to be clear. I can't get my second wiimote working and I get this error when I try.
I'm clarifying this because this bug is not a minor issue to me. If this is the cause for the 2nd wiimotes not to work then it's more serious than having to avoid pressing the Home button...
You don't need to mess with the home menu to connect wiimotes.
Just use Tools->Connect Wiimote 2,3,4....
I wish it were that easy. That does absolutely nothing for me. I have never been able to get the 2nd wiimote since I've used dolphin (~1yr). I've tried 2 OSs, 3 machines, 3 dongles, 3 wiimotes... I was hoping this bug was the problem.
I also get this error in the log when this dialog shows up:
09:12:520 c:\dokumente und einstellungen\saber\desktop\cruisecontrol\repository\dolphin\source\core\core\src\ipc_hle\WII_IPC_HLE_Device_net.h:218 E[WII_IPC_NET]: /dev/net/kd/time - IOCtl:

BufferOut: 0x00357120
BufferOutSize: 0x00000020
And millions of these:
[WARNING] Packet ignored. This may indicate a problem (timeout is 30 ms).
Not sure if this is related:

@Billiard26: I'm a C++ developer also, could you point me to any developer notes, docs, etc about wiimotes and Dolphin? I want to try and fix this.
@ james.straub
Sorry, I have no notes.
Which Revision are you using?
You are trying to play "Mario Kart Wii" you said?
With real wiimotes I'm assuming?
And It works with emulated wiimotes?
@Billiard26
Which Revision are you using?
From r???? (~1yr ago) to r6263
You are trying to play "Mario Kart Wii" you said?
and a few others. Some game cause the 2nd wiimote to loose connection.
With real wiimotes I'm assuming?
And It works with emulated wiimotes?
Yeah, all real. I'll try with emulated tomorrow.
The only constant in all of this is my computer (quad processor), nvidia 8800 GT and my games are mounted on a samba drive over my home network (1GigE).
What BT dongle do you use?
Make sure you use r6261 and up. Multi-wiimotes were broken for awhile until then.
"What BT dongle do you use?"
The one that came with my laptop, some broadcom one or something, with bluesoleil stack, but it also works with MS stack.
Maybe your dongle doesn't support more than one wiimote.(some don't)
Can you use two wiimote simultaneously in GlovePIE or a similar program?
@Billiard26
I've tried 3 different bluetooth dongles and no deal. So this time I bought a Targus adapter.. IT WORKS! IT WORKS! IT WORKS! IT WORKS! IT WORKS!
After a year an a half it's been my bluetooth adapters! No more cheep bluetooth adapters for me. Thanks.
