Description

I'm getting lock ups on stage loads, sometimes even before the main map is loaded. The game itself will load but once it gets to that point it will cycle whatever sound is playing.

The fps in the window will be 0 but the vps will be 60. Eventually it will crash. In the rare occasions that I do get ingame whether the next stage will load or crash is completely random.

Demonstration of what it looks like:

Version R6483

64 bit version.

Q6600 3.6
gtx480
8gb ram
win 7 ultimate.

Here is a build with a patch applied that disables the ssbm loop detection. Do the problems go away with this version?

If you want to build it yourself there is a patch file in the docs folder.

Just occurred to me that you probably cant browse to the patch. Here is the patch file if you want it:

I tried the build from the first first link and still got a lock up on map load. I download the .patch in 2nd link as well but I'm not sure how to apply it to dolphin. Going into the iso and patch tab doesn't let me add it.

The first link is built with the patch in it already. You would only need the patch file if you wanted to compile it yourself.

Thanks for trying it.

DeusGear, test this with r6495 or later. Some FIFO fixes were made which might help resolve this issue. Let us know if that fixes it.

For me game crash only in loading between levels, and the most of time when loading a new level after completed one!

macro: the issue is fixed for me if you tick the lock threads to cores. Been playing for an hour no problems. Quit out, tried again, no problems. Now as soon as I uncheck it and quit out and try again I get lock ups.

Skidau can you please reopen this? The lock threads to cores has been disproven as a solution to the problem. Here's a couple reports from the forums when this was brought up before. This option apparantly effects every pc differently - so this might help some but not others. At least it's a clue I guess...

Report 1:

"Still getting frequent hangs (Dolphin crashed once), now not only on loading, but sparse ones through the game too. "Lock threads to cores" made no difference for me either on this matter. Using Dolphin x64 R6525 now."

Another..

"I'm running Dolphin on 64-bit Arch Linux and I've had no success getting this game to work..."Lock threads to cores" makes no difference for me. With a previous SVN revision (I don't remember which), I could get as far as the shipwreck scene in the menu before the game froze with "trying to compile at 0".The current version (r6513) fares even worse -- Dolphin either segfaults during the title screen, or freezes (FPS:0 VPS:~49) after I press 2 and the logo has moved off the screen. I've tested it with JIT and JITIL, both with "lock threads to cores" on and off -- I get the same results with all of them."

Yeh, locked threads to cores didn't work on my own PC either. However, it's worked for the issue reporter. I think the issue that you (wespipes69) and I have is actually issue 2579.

I have the same issue, the patched Version does not help.
