Description

What's the problem?

I'm having menu issues with Baten Kaitos. Upon loading a game, everything looks fine. The menu background image is perfectly fine. The dialog menu background (same image as the menu) looks fine. However, after playing a battle, the background image becomes totally corrupted. This has occurred with every single setting change (a good hour of testing) I have tried to make. This seems to be somewhat related to the "menu/game slowdown" people were receiving after a battle or opening the magnus deck. However, I have no real slowdown issues; only the issue with graphic corruption.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"): r7583

Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit: OSX 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard) 64-bit

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"): GKBPAF

Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?

It was a plain dump from disc.

Please provide any additional information below.

Also, since I'm on OSX, I'm unsure if the problem is isolated to OpenGL or if it is also present on the DirectX plugin. Maybe someone can chime in and add that little tidbit of information.

A little follow up. Wish I had seen this fist...
http://forums.dolphin-emulator.com/showthread.php?tid=12228&highlight=baten+kaitos

Despite one poster's tip, having "ESB Copies to Texture" turned on does not solve the problem on my end. I wanted to test with the revision mentioned in the post, but I was unable to track it down.

Also, setting External Frame Buffer to anything other than "Disable" causes constant screen flickering. The problem persists when completely disabling EFB Copies... And is still there after turning off "Skip EFB Access from CPU"..

Try ESB Copy to Ram.

Wow... This is really odd... I'm 98% sure I tested that option at least twice yesterday... Anyways, I fire up the game again with ESB Copy to Ram and it works! No more corrupted screen.

Weirder still is that I decided to try again with Copy to Texture enabled, and it worked pretty well for a couple of battles, but then the corrupted graphics game back.

I hate that this was fixed so easily, but I guess it can be closed.

Mods, please close this "error"

Big apologies for not getting this fixed up on my end despite using the forums. I always try to exhaust all options before reporting errors here, but this one seemed to get by me :(
