Emulator Issues #5007
closedHybrid wiimote not working in Skyward Sword
0%
Description
- Game Name and ID (as it appears in right click > properties:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - SOUE01
2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Well the game SHOULD run fine, I have a real wiimote, wm+ extension and nunchuk extension, recently my nunchuk wont be detected via the wm+ extension (probably dud connectors on wm+) so i decided to use a hybrid wiimote to emulate the nunchuk whilst the real wiimote and wm+ are being used.
As i said, theoretically, the game should run, the hybrid wiimote combination works fine in the wii system menu as I can use the key board and wiimote to navigate around but in Skyward Sword not even the wiimote works it asks for BOTH nunchuk and wm+
3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.
Could never get the game to work.
4) What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Set wiimote to hybrid
- Start skyward sword
- Stuck at detecting nunchuk stage
5) What version of dolphin are you using (32bit/64bit along with the
version as it appears in the title bar, etc)?
On what operating system, drivers, and hardware? Be sure to list OS,
graphics driver information, and video card model if you are having
graphics problems, for example.
Dolphin r7549m
64bit
Windows 7 Ultimate
Using standard drivers for bluetooth
6) Please provide any additional information below.
7) Attachments. IMPORTANT! We have a limited storage quota on
GoogleCode, so please use a 3rd party host for screenshots or any other
files (http://min.us/ for example).

Not sure what order the pictures come out but it should be as follows:
wiimote.png
SX4P01-2.png
change.png
SX4P01-3.png
This shows the hybrid wiimote working
the following show it not working:

note that the first error message asks for a nunchuk yet the second asks for both nunchuk and wm+ so i have to conclude that the hybrid is faulty in Skyward Sword as it works fine in other games.

I think I can answer for the Dolphin-team: Old revisions are NOT supported.
Use the latest 3.0 version and see if it's fixed (and I think it is)

i have the same exact problem and it is the same with dolphin v3.0-201.

i solve it by removing the emulated nunchuk. (if you have a real one should be ok).
but anyway, i have other problemi with moving the cursor in ZSS. because the game mix the signal of the wiibar and the wiimoteplus. so if you don't have a bar it's difficoult. it's a bug. (i can't move the cursor well even if i have one)

I can confirm that i(myself) experience this in v3.0-201
I cant use a real nunchuk because the connecter at the back of wm+ extension is faulty
and it doesnt matter since i traded in the wiimote and wm+ for a new wiimote+ so my real nunchuk should work but again hybrid mode disables the wiimote in skyward sword

- Status changed from New to Won't fix
Hybrid wiimote is extreme hacks.

Freaking emulating Skyward Sword days before the official release in 1080p is already extreme if you ask me xD
Why can't the nunchuck just work in hybrid mode here?

i am from the UK, the preorder arrived the day before the UK release, and i have a phenom 1090t with a powercolor radeon hd 6850 factory oced, i assumed it could do 1080p since i could do 1080p on xenoblade

this IS a bug, I too am experiencing it. It looks like using hybrid remote overrides the real remote's motion plus. Fix should be relatively straight forward, as far as I know...
