Description

  1. Game Name and ID (as it appears in right click > properties: "GZ2P01",
    "RSBE01", etc):
It's not game specific, tried with several Gamecube and Wii ISO's.

2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to switch to fullscreen mode, but Dolphin crashes instead.

3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.
I tried 3.0 stable and 3.0-865, both crash the same way.

4) What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Connect HDMI Television
  2. Set it to any resolution, doesn't matter if it's 1080p, 720p or any other
  3. Set fullscreen resolution in Dolphin to one of the many 1920x1080 entries (there's more than one of them)
  4. Start game
  5. Enter fullscreen mode (either automatically, using Cmd+F or the toolbar button)
  6. The screen turns black, then blinks three times, then Dolphin crashes and I'm looking at the desktop again.
  1. What version of dolphin are you using:
Dolphin 3.0-865 for Mac (from dolphin-emu.org)
    Mac OS X 10.8.2 (12C3104)
    Mac Mini Late 2012, with Core i5 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 and Intel HD4000 graphics
Toshiba XF355 40" LCD television, connected to the Mac Mini over HDMI

6) Please provide any additional information below.
It only happens with my television connected over HDMI. It doesn't happen with my Dell U2412M monitor connected to the Mac MIni over HDMI <-> DVI and set to it's native resolution of 1920x1200.
Also, setting the fullscreen resolution in Dolphin to 1280x720 or anything else besides 1920x1080 doesn't trigger the crash, even if the display resolution in OS X is already set to 1280x720 (720p). So it's really related to the selection of the 1920x1080 resolution in Dolphin.
Maybe it has something to do with there being many 1920x1080 selections available in the fullscreen resolution selection in Dolphin? (Maybe they all come from different refresh rates and it always picks the wrong mode.) But I'm just guessing.

  1. Attachments:
I attached a zipped crash log.

My patch here would likely make it work, although it changes how full-screen mode works on the Mac entirely: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=5725

Yep, I've seen it, and I think it would. I do not currently have a build setup ready to test it out myself though. I might do that over the next week, or do you have a build I could test available?

http://cl.ly/LI7z Here, have a build of it.

Thanks, this build works great indeed. :)
(I've only been able to see if it went into fullscreen and kept running without crashing.)

I don't know if it's in any way possible to link this issue to #5725 until it's pulled?

There is any way to include this fix for the news builds of this great emulator?
