Game Name? Skies of Arcadia Legends
Game ID? GEAE8P
What went wrong? After the first ship battle in Yafutoma, the flagship attempts to board the Delphinus. When trying to open the door to the deck from inside the Delphinus, the screen goes black and the game freezes or crashes after displaying a pop up window that says "Invalid Pointer Palette 00af52f0 15ea5e00 01ea5e00" Up to this point, I was able to play the game with no serious problems.
What did you expect to happen? Scene on Delphinus ship deck loads and plays out normally.
What steps will reproduce the problem? Using any graphical plugin causes the issue, and I have not been able to get around it by changing any other graphical settings.
What version of Dolphin were you using? v3.5-1034
64 or 32 bit Dolphin? 64 bit
What version of Dolphin used to work? N/A
What Operating System were you using and what are your hardware
specifications? Windows 7
64 or 32 bit Operating system? 64 bit
Any other relevant information or links to logs: This appears to be a game breaking bug, as I cannot find any other way around the error. I have a save state file available from right outside of the door that leads to the crash/freeze when opened but it is greater than the max attachment file size.

Would you please also upload your MemoryCardA.USA.raw file? Have you been using the normal in-game saves regularly?

Yes, here it is --> http://www.mediafire.com/?e6r2db3k6y5d5r9
I do indeed use normal in-game saves regularly. I only use save states occasionally.

Using your save state, I cannot return to the bridge either.
What are the steps we need to follow to reproduce this after loading from your memory card? Never got this far in this game, so you gotta give us a step by step guide.

Sure thing, here's what you do from the memory card save to get to the crash point:
- Fly directly North for about 10-15 seconds. A cut scene will automatically take place, followed by the start of a ship battle.
- During the first round, use a torpedo first and space it so that it hits on the "C!" column. Use "focus" on the other three turns.
- During the second round, use the moonstone cannon during the second column to destroy the ship.
- After the brief cut scene, you will be on the bridge of the ship. Exit the bridge, go down the stairs and attempt to enter the door behind the stairs. This is where Dolphin will always freeze or crash.

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I wasn't able to work out how to use the moonstone cannon in the third step but I won the fight after a while. The game did not freeze while walking out of the door behind the stairs. See below:

Settings on Windows x64 Dolphin 3.5-1101:
JIT64, Dual Core, DX9, Idle Skip, EFB to RAM, safest accuracy, External Frame Buffer Virtual, DSP LLE recompiler, OpenAL, LLE on Thread. Nothing checked in the game properties except the custom projection hack.

Okay, so I downloaded 3.5-1101, used the exact same settings that you listed to the letter, and I still get the same error.
The only thing I see is that the top of my screen says "JIT64 SC" and your screenshot shows "JIT64 DC". Could this have something to do with this? Or is there something else you can think of that would be causing this issue?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate your looking into this. This is one of my all time favorite games.

"SC" means you're running the game in single-core mode. Check the "Enable Dual-core" box in the General config (or, if that's already checked, right-click the game, click "Properties", and either check or fill-in the "Enable Dual-core" box).
If all his settings + dual-core doesn't work, you may want to try redumping your game. (Since everyone asks what that means, it means to re-copy the game from its disc.)

I see now, I did have it on dual-core before but I unchecked it and idle skipping from the game properties after trying the settings above for one last shot try just in case, but still no luck.
I will try to redump the game. At this point, that's probably the issue if it worked for Skidau. Thanks

I was also using the "Auto" framelimiter and "Limit by FPS" was not checked. Will close this issue for now as I could not reproduce it.

New iso creation worked. And my old one was the right size file and everything (1,425,760kb). Oh well, at least if anyone has a similar issue, you can point them to this. Thanks again.
