Description

Xenoblade Chronicles (SX4E01) intermittently freezes with the latest master build. If focus is taken away from the game window, it will turn black. During the freeze, the sound gets stuck in a loop.

As far as I can tell, this freeze only happens shortly after beginning a battle, when giving the first command. I can't see any consistencies in when it occurs, so I can't give more helpful reproduction steps.

This crash occurs in both 3.5 and master, both 32-bit and 64-bit, using Windows 7. Googling around shows that other people have experienced this, though I'm not sure why there isn't a bug open for it.

I've attempted to debug the problem, but I don't know enough about Dolphin to be very effective. One thing that stood out, though maybe not relevant, is that during the freeze, the inner while loop in RunGpuLoop doesn't get entered because either fifo.bFF_GPReadEnable or fifo.CPReadWriteDistance are false.

If there are any suggestions on what I should be looking for to diagnose this problem, I can look into it.

We make the issue template so you don't forget this shit and you just totally ignore it, Dammit!

What version of Dolphin were you using? ("latest master" will not be useful in a few days)
What version of Dolphin used to work?

Does this issue occur when disabling dual core mode?

You should give instructions on how to tell the version; I'm building Dolphin from the repository, so I have no idea what 'version' means to you. I had to look on the downloads page and steal the version from there; 3.5-1188

I'm not sure that it ever worked. I've tried reverting to the 3.0 version from the downloads page and still experienced this issue.

I've tried to reproduce it with dual core mode disabled, but I get 8-12 FPS and it can take hours of playing at full speed to reproduce it.

The version is in the title of the Dolphin window.. facepalm..

My bad, I was inadvertently building 3.5; it's fixed with 1189.

Also, my 3.5 build didn't have any version (Dolphin [] in the title and Dolphin in the about dialog), but it seems to be fixed with 1189.
