Description

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

Latest stable and development versions of dolphin compiled on linux against sdl-2.0.2 would not detect my controller (PS3 sixaxis), when compiled against sdl-1.2.15-r4 the controller was detected and worked fine.

What did you expect to happen instead?

The controller to work with SDL2.

0-
What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Compile with SDL2 on Linux
  2. Try using controller
  3. ???????
  4. Don't profit

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

Latest stable version 4.0.2, and latest development version from svn a couple hours ago.

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

I remember it worked ootb for me sometime last year though.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Gentoo Linux x86_64
Xeon 1230v2
Nvdia 650 Ti Boost (proprietary/official driver)

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?

64bit.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

I found a very similar report here. http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6768

Tried giving read/write permission to other on the correct /dev/input/event file for my controller, did nothing though.
