The hwtests project currently doesn't support running tests separately which could be solved by using GoogleTest.
Potential problems:
- PPC architecture not officially supported (https://code.google.com/p/googletest/issues/detail?id=409)
- devkitppc toolchain
- send stdout over network, OCR from screen output would be quite a roundabout approach ;)

- Status changed from New to Won't fix
neobrain overhauled the build system with CMake. It generates multiple executables now. Although it would still be kind of desirable to use GoogleTest, it works well enough in its current form.
