Game Name?

Game ID?

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When selecting the direct3d backend on an optimus system (such as mine with a nvidia 660m and an intel 4000 + a Microsoft basic render driver) you are given the choice to select your graphics adapter from the drop-down menu. This menu has always had issues displaying the correct names for the adapters, sometimes displaying the adapter names in the wrong order and sometimes replacing all 3 names with one of them, seemingly at random. This is annoying but not such a big deal as you can force an adapter to be used through catalyst control of nvdia control panel. However, if you choose the "wrong adapter" (in my case anything but the 660m) dolphin will crash with :failed to enumerate outputs" immediately followed by an application error crash. This can be especially challenging as dolphin does not always default to the correct adapter and god only knows what name the adapter will be when I open up settings. This issue has been raised before, but it has been a while so I just thought it should be mentioned again. Thank You

What did you expect to happen instead?
Dolphin to display correctly, not crash when another adapter is chosen and for dolphin to default to the correct adapter.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Graphics settings
  2. direct 3d settings on an optimus computer
  3. attempt to run a game.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
all versions

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
nope

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Nvidia 660m
16gb ram
intel 4000
i7 3632qm

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?
64

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
