Game Name?
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (Gamecube)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When i press the up or down arrow key in combination with left or right, i will walk instead of run. However, applying the multiplier causes me to instead run, but only works for Up and Left and Down and Right movement comibinations

What did you expect to happen instead?
I should run diagonally, but instead it causes my character to walk.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Launch game, enter a playable area
  2. Press more than one movement key (up and left, down and right, for example), the character walks instead of runs

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-4863

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 8.1
I3 5.40 GHZ
ATI Radeon HD 5830

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

I attempted to make a forum post, however the e-mail verification system is not sending me an e-mail (even after i told it to re-send). I've been messing around with the controller settings trying to fix it, but i honestly cant find the solution and no thread tackles this issue.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

Increase the main joystick radius in the controller options for the GameCube pad.

Ive tried this, it dosent help

Currently, i have forced it to walk all the time and use a !not modifier on shift, so it acts like a sprint button.

If i change the radius to 49, Down and Left is a forced walk no matter if i use the shift multiplier. However, upon changing the threshold to 50, it is the Up and Right direction which does not allow me to sprint. As i keep on changing the analog radius, the walking issue still presists when using 2 movement buttons

Again, you're using keyboard to emulate a joystick, stuff like this can happen. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is especially touchy to configure even on GameCube to USB adapters, so I'm really not surprised that keyboard would have issues. I think it's a limitation of your input methods more than anything.

Ok, firstly i would like to apologize because i have only used emulators in the past when i was younger, and my knowledge is that of a "newb".

When browsing through threads i also read somewhere that Twin Snakes is touchy to config on keyboard and mouse.

Just to establish, the default settings have this issue for me.
Is it possible for me to find a way to not suffer from this walking on pressing two arrow keys, such as an xbox controller? Currently, the !not modifier method i am using makes it playable - however it breaks and eventually returns to the two arrow-key problem.
